The Second Amendment creates a legal framework by which the government could not legally strip you of or infringe on your God-given right to self-defense. Our founding fathers did not merely desire firearms to hunt or protect your home; they created the amendment based on their personal experiences with a tyrannical government. The founders had the foresight to ensure future generations were afforded the right to defend their liberties. I will protect those same rights in Congress today!
The men and women who work every day to protect and serve deserve the support of all of their elected officials especially their Members of Congress. I will always have the back of law enforcement officers who are serving with honor. We teeter upon the brink of being either a nation that honors our laws and defends those who protect them or a nation that is demeaning and violent to the peace makers who strive protect us. In a culture where the words "defund the police" are all too common, I will do all in my power to protect law enforcement institutions and ensure our communities are kept safe.
Today, a lawless regime ruled by socialist gangsters is attempting to overtake America's representative government. They are now trying to eradicate conservatism and capitalism by removing all opposing thought, including freedom of information, and naming all opposition as terrorists, racists, or Nazis.
Capitalism has created more jobs, saved more lives, and uplifted more people out of destitute poverty than any other economic system in history. We must protect it.
These radicals are ethically illiterate and nothing short of domestic terrorists. We must do everything we can to stop their socialist agenda and prevent the destruction of our nation. As the great Benjamin Franklin once said, "A republic, if you can keep it". The preservation of our Constitutional Republic is a never-ending task, we must remain ever vigilant. As you have seen, even today we suffer threat from violent Marxist revolutionaries. As your congressman, I will stand steadfast against the socialist predations of the radical Left.
The Trump administration has been tough on China. I applaud their work and will stand with the President on this issue in Congress. They have imposed historic tariffs, stood up to China’s intellectual property theft, and confronted untrustworthy Chinese technology and telecom providers.
China is not only our biggest economic competitor; it is also our primary geopolitical adversary. We must stop outsourcing supply chain reliance on China for critical goods and vital American interests, such as manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medical devices or supplies, and technology. We must bring these industries back to America - both for economic prosperity and as a national security issue.
A capitalistic society requires a level playing field, and I am glad the President is leveling the field for American business.
The United States of America is a nation built on the guiding principles outlined in our constitution. For over 200 years, we have succeeded through mutual agreement to adhere to the law, and immigration laws are no different.
By providing amnesty, we circumvent the law and create a vacuum of criminal activity that encourages those wanting to enter our nation illegally. Furthermore, it undermines the hard work and dedication to the law of those who have chosen the legal path to citizenship.
We must secure our borders and stop the flow of illegal immigrants. For too long drugs and violence have spilled over our borders. We have a responsibility to protect our citizens.
I will be frank!
Marcy Kaptur endorsed Bernie Sanders before she endorsed Joe Biden. She walks in step with Nancy Pelosi and articulates policy presented by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Rep. Kaptur is as far left as it gets. We see what the left is doing to America.
I am sure she is a good person, but her policies are wrong for Ohio and America.
She has supported legislation that takes away 2nd Amendment rights.
She has focused a tremendous amount of attention on Ukraine, including lobbying for that nation's energy independence while supporting policies that undermine ours.
She opposed the USMCA which opened markets and expanded protections for the American worker.
I encourage you to look into her Congressional record. I shared what I stand for. Ask her what she stands for.
